Disabled Veteran Enterprises, Inc. began
operations on September 11, 1990. Originally named Toner Cartridge
Service, the company was started by Corina Estrada and her son Arturo
Kane as a local family owned business in San Francisco. The concept
was to offer products that could be recycled, would create jobs locally,
and contribute to the California economy. Recycled toner cartridges
were exactly the type of product that had been envisioned. The idea
was as exciting then as it is today.
Tom Schultz assumed ownership and control of the company in 2004 and
the decision was made to change the name of the company to Disabled
Veteran Enterprises, Inc. Tom is a very close family friend and has
been an advisor to the company for many years. Tom brings an extensive
back ground in operations, procurement, material management, sales
and marketing for companies such as Beatrice Foods, Turtle Wax and
Amway Corporate Headquarters.
Tom also served his country in war, and is a Service Disabled Vietnam
Veteran. Tom was in the central highlands of the Republic of Vietnam
when med evacuated to the US Military hospital in Japan. He spent over
four months in a military hospital in Japan before being reassigned
to the Saigon area for another tour of duty. He has spent time recovering
in several VA Medical facilities upon his release from the U.S. Army.
Today, Disabled Veteran Enterprises offers an extensive array of almost
200 quality remanufactured and compatible toner cartridges and inkjets,
as well as almost every OEM product that is used to print on paper.
